Sales training is an investment that helps organizations remain sustainable and competitive in the long run. It also motivates the teams and helps them to remain up-to-date with respect to the company’s product, market and competition. Keeping this view in mind, New Saraswati House organized a two day training program “Sell with Pride” for the sales team of Bangalore region at Hotel Pai Comfort, Bangalore on 21-22st August, 2015. The trainers for the program were Ms. Ankita Arora and Ms. Poornima Kotak. The training program focused on many important topics like – How to prepare for the sales visit, Dress code, Good Manners, How to break the ice, Arousing interest in the buyer, Product demonstration, Closing the sale etc.

The topics that were discussed in this program have deep importance in the professional life of sales personnel and helps in developing their interpersonal skills. Topics like ‘Dress code’ and ‘How to make a field visit’ and ‘Good Manners’ are very essential to make a good impression in front of the customers on first visit. The sales department is the revenue-generating department in any organization, thus the most important. In this highly competitive environment, where a lot of companies are competing for customer’s attention, the onus is upon the sales people to offer the right product to the right customer at an opportune time. By providing training in the areas like ‘How to break the ice’, ‘arousing interest in the buyer’, ‘product demonstration’ and ‘closing the sale’ empowers the sales staff to carry out their tasks in a more productive manner.

The purpose of the training was to educate the sales staff about these topics by putting them into real life situations. The participants were asked to play the roles and enact in situations given to them by the trainers. After each inaction, the trainers discussed and explained them the right manner to approach that particular situation. By enacting these situations, participants got to know about their own weaknesses and learned how to overcome them. The training session was very informative for the sales team. They learned and rectified their mistakes. From this point forward they will be able to contribute more towards their organization as well as towards their personal growth.
